Owanga is a company focused on providing affordable and accessible energy solutions in Congo. We sell portable battery packs to consumers or distributors, we plan to sell them for $300. Our service is designed to meet the energy needs of individuals and businesses in areas with limited access to reliable electricity.
With the support of a $1000 grant, we developed a new stackable battery solution, improving upon our previous product. This innovation allows for more efficient use of space, making the battery packs easier to transport and store.
Our goal is to continue expanding our reach and improve the lives of our customers by providing them with a reliable and sustainable energy source.
Motivation for taking on the project:
The motivation behind this project is not only to address the issue of electricity access but also to drive innovation in the market. In the DRC and across Africa, most solar products are simply resold rather than designed specifically for the local market. Many of these products do not go through basic safety certification processes and often stop working after a year.
